FIELD: heating.
SUBSTANCE: method and device for temperature control of a heat regenerator used in an energy accumulation plant by adiabatic air compression. The regenerator includes a layer of a warmth-keeping heat-resistant material, which is located in a vertical direction between an upper distributing chamber and a lower distributing chamber. At the compression stage, a hot air flow enters the regenerator through the upper distributing chamber, passes through the heat-resistant material layer and the cooled flow leaves the lower distributing chamber, and at the expansion stage, when a cold air flow is being heated, it passes in the backward direction. Between two consequent working cycles there performed is cooling of a lower compartment of the heat-resistant material layer, which is located near the lower distributing chamber, thus, bringing its temperature in compliance with the specified temperature range of air leaving the thermal regenerator at compression stages.
EFFECT: method allows eliminating the regenerator temperature deviations and providing maintenance of the thermodynamic balance of the energy accumulation plant during a big number of working cycles without any need for cooling of the whole weight of the heat-resistant material layer.
