FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to pipettes applicable particularly in medicine and biology. A pipette comprises a cylinder having a far end portion to which a pipette tip is detachably coupled; what is also provided is a piston attached for free advance and retraction in a cylinder chamber; the piston is retracted for liquid suction and advanced for the sucked liquid evacuation; on its outer periphery, the piston comprises a connective groove for connecting an inside part of the cylinder chamber and an outside part of the cylinder chamber together when the piston is advanced by a length more than a pre-set value, wherein the connective groove is arranged on the outside of the cylinder chamber when the piston is arranged in the retracted position.

EFFECT: prevented liquid penetration into the cylinder chamber in a combination with higher reliability and safety of operations of liquid suction and evacuation in a simple way requiring no high qualification.
