FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for dissecting a lens inside a capsular eye bag. Device for dissecting a lens inside a capsular eye bag comprises a rod, a dissecting element and an actuator. Core comprises a lumen and a distal segment. Dissecting element is formed in the first, withdrawn configuration with at least section of dissecting element located inside at least one lumen. First, retracted configuration of the dissecting element and the distal portion of the rod have a size for insertion into the anterior eye chamber through the incision. Dissecting member is configured to move, after inserting the dissecting element into the front chamber, from first, retracted configuration to second, unfolded configuration as section of dissecting element is extended from at least one lumen. Second, unfolded configuration comprises preset shape and open area. Second, unfolding configuration of dissecting element has size and shape to allow movement of dissecting element between capsular sac and front surface of crystalline lens and further movement of the dissecting element between the capsular sac and the posterior surface of the lens in order to capture a portion of the crystalline lens within the open region. Actuator is operably coupled with dissecting element to move dissecting element from first, retracted configuration to second, unfolded configuration and to tension dissecting element to reduce size of opened area and to dissolve lens.
EFFECT: use of the invention enables reducing a risk of eye tissue damage and providing more efficient operation of the surgeon.
