SUBSTANCE: inventions can be used in passenger conveyor design. Double-solenoid brake of escalator main drive shaft includes braking element, starter and antistarter as per its design versions. In the second design version, among other things releasing lever is used which is attached to braking element to hold it in raised position corresponding to ready position. Starter is deenergised to release braking element and stop passenger conveyor in contingency or emergency situations. Energised antistarter allows braking element to be released but when antistarter is deenergised it blocks braking element releasing with blocking its unintentional release caused for example by mains failure in consequence of emergency.
EFFECT: more reliable passenger conveyor braking.
