SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an improved method of obtaining alicyclic alcohol of structural formula (III) The method includes obtaining a cyclohexanecarbonyl compound, represented by general formula (II) carbonylation of unsaturated hydrocarbon, represented by general formula (I) with the application of carbon monoxide in the presence of HF with further obtaining alicyclic alcohol, represented by general formula (III), and reduction of the said cyclohexanecarbonyl compound, represented by general formula (II). In structural formulas (I)-(III) R¹ represents an alkyl group, containing 1-4 carbon atoms, R² represents an alkyl group, containing 1-4 carbon atoms, R³ represents an OH group, fluorine or an OR⁴ group, and R⁴ represents an alkyl group, containing 1-4 carbon atoms.
