FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the production of sun-protective products. Titanium dioxide particles possess a median weight average diameter of particles larger than 70 nm, and E524 lower than 9 l/g/cm, E360 from 25 to 50 l/g/cm and a ratio of E360/E308 from 0.5 to 1.0. A method of obtaining the said titanium dioxide particles includes obtaining precursor-particles of titanium dioxide with the average length from 40 to 100 nm and/or average width from 3 to 25 nm and burning the precursor-particles at a temperature from 450 to 850°C.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain titanium dioxide particles, possessing properties of the active absorption of an ultraviolet spectrum B (UVB) and high efficiency with respect to ultraviolet radiation of the spectrum A (UVA).
