A protective ordnance to be launched is selected based on the value of the ratio of the time interval between the beginning of generation at radar stations of signals at differential frequency (N+4)2Vofo/C, where N is a number considerably greater than 1, fo is the average frequency of the emitted chirp signal, C, Do, Vo, Fm, dfm denote: light speed and distance, speed, modulation frequency and frequency deviation selected based on the condition Do/Vo=fo/Fmdfm, to the time interval between the beginning of generation, at one of the radar stations, of signals at differential frequencies (N+4)2Vofo/C and N2Vofo/C. The apparatus for generating commands for protecting an object from an approaching target comprises two radar stations for determining the time of issuing commands for launching the protective ordnance, a front-triggered phase detector with sign storage, a shift register, four AND elements, an OR element, a pulse generator, four counters, a divider, a delay element and a digital comparator.

EFFECT: broader functional capabilities of devices for determining a protective ordnance to be launched.
