SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio communication, particularly to a device for calibrating a multibeam satellite system, and is intended to facilitate calibration at any frequency within the bandwidth of the satellite system. The device includes a beam-forming circuit which provides a plurality of signal paths, wherein the device includes a calibration processor for determining phase and amplitude shifts of a test path of the plurality of signal paths through correlation of a calibration tone extracted from the test path with a reference calibration signal, wherein the calibration processor is configured to determine phase and amplitude shifts of the test path for at least two calibration tones of at least two different frequencies. The device also includes a means of applying an adjustment based on the determined phase and amplitude shifts to the test path in the beam-forming circuit. Two calibration tones of at least two different frequencies can be calibration tones input at two different frequencies and calibration tones converted at two different frequencies by the beam-forming circuit.
EFFECT: invention enables to calculate phase and amplitude shifts for each path through a beam-forming circuit for any frequency in the bandwidth of a multibeam satellite system and adjustments applied for formation or processing of required downlink or uplink beams of a multibeam satellite system.
