FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method consists in installation of a probe with an electrode on an outer surface in a body, installation of multiple contact add-on electrodes on the body surface, measurement of mapping electric currents, flowing between the electrode on the outer surface of the probe and the multiple contact add-on electrodes on the body surface by means of measurement circuits of contact add-on electrodes, calibration of measurement by compensation of leakage currents flowing on the way stretching from the electrode on the outer surface of the probe via an ablator and the contact add-on electrode of the ablator to the multiple contact add-on electrodes, and calculation of the probe position in the body on the basis of the mapping currents using calibrated measurements. The device is made as capable to implement the stages of the method.
EFFECT: accurate detection of the object position in a patient's body.
