FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pyrotechnical thermal compositions, which contain inorganic salts of oxygen-containing acids, and can be applied as an ignition agent of executive elements of constructions with the time delay of the charge burning. The pyrotechnical delay composition includes, wt %: oxidiser in the form of barium chromate (58-90) and potassium perchlorate (8-30), as fuel - phenolformaldehyde resin (2-12), which is preferably applied in the form of a solution in acetone, alcohol or their mixture. Stable burning of charges with the diameter, comparable with the critical burning diameter (3-6 mm), as well as stable functioning as required in a broad temperature range are provided, which extends the area of the delay composition application for reliable transmission of a fire impulse to an executive element.

EFFECT: solution ensures high sensitivity of the composition to the initiating impulse, low speed of burning and formation of a volume-porous slag residue at burning, gas-permeable for combustion products, which are additionally filtered for complete after-burning inside the device during the given time interval.
