FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: clock has a thin-wall ornamental housing made of precious metal, a closing supporting body of the capsule of the clock outside, wherein the thin-wall ornamental cover is in the form of a thin-wall frame, having a sidewall and an upper rim encasing the opening of the frame which surrounds a glass covering the clock face, wherein the capsule is provided with a collar located in the area of the lower edge of the capsule on which the sidewall of the thin-wall frame rests. The method of making the clock includes making a thin-wall ornamental cover from precious metal in the form of a thin-wall frame with a sidewall which repeats the shape of the sidewall of the supporting body of the capsule, and a rim along the upper edge of the thin-wall frame which repeats the shape of the upper surface of the supporting body of the capsule and encases the opening in the upper wall of the frame, and mounting the thin-wall frame of the thin-wall ornamental cover on the supporting body of the capsule.
EFFECT: use of the invention provides improved strength properties of clocks with a housing made of precious metal and reduces consumption of precious metal.
