METHOD FOR CREATING EPICYSTOSTOMA Russian patent published in 2014 - IPC A61B17/00

Abstract RU 2533023 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method refers to medicine, namely to surgery. An epicystostoma is created in a pubic region. After an anterior wall of the bladder is separated, two stay sutures are applied at 3.5-4.0 cm from each other. The bladder is punctured at 1.3-1.5 cm from one of the sutures in between, and urine is removed. The wall of the bladder is sectioned, and a catheter is inserted. The bladder wound is closed about the catheter with two purse sutures. The first - seromusculo-submucous - suture starts from the closest to the wound edge stay suture. The second seromuscular suture starts from the furthest to the wound edge stay suture. The sutures are tightened to form a sealed cuff from the bladder wall around the catheter. The suture ends are brought out from different sides of the catheter. The bladder with its brought out ends is fixed to an anterior abdominal wall.

EFFECT: method provides creating the sealed cuff of the epicystostoma, reducing a risk of postoperative complications in the patients with acute urine retention, improving the postoperative quality of life.
