FIELD: power industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power engineering. A vortex tube consists of a nozzle inlet, an energy separation chamber, a throttle for deceleration of a hot flow and a diffuser. The nozzle inlet includes guide vanes of a drop shape, which are symmetrical relative to an axis passing through the vane edge. The flow part of the nozzle inlet, which is located behind the guide vanes, is made in the form of a turn restricted with two rotation surfaces, the generatrixes of which represent arcs. The guide vanes of the nozzle inlet have a possibility of being turned relative to an axis perpendicular to vane contact planes.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at increase of energy efficiency of a vortex tube operating both in subsonic and supersonic modes.
