SUBSTANCE: invention relates to payment processing means. Account transaction notification can be initiated by a client using an identifier in any of subsequent operations including an application to open a new account, a request to activate an account or use an account. Data of the application to open an account, request to activate or a transaction are sent to a host system which compares the data with notification rule criteria. If any of the criteria is satisfied, the notification recipient is sent an account transaction notification. A response to the notification may be required from the recipient in order to authorise the operation, which is the subject of the account transaction notification.
