FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: all pregnant women suffered a uterine artery (UA) embolisation for hysteromyoma undergo the Doppler examination at 22-24 weeks, 28-30 weeks, 32-34 weeks, 36-38 weeks of pregnancy. The Doppler examination involves recording blood velocity curves in both uterine arteries, the umbilical artery, the foetal aorta and the medial cerebral artery that is followed by calculating a resistance index (RI). A diagnosis of placental insufficiency (PI) is established if observing the simultaneous RI increase in both uterine arteries.
EFFECT: method enables providing the more accurate diagnosing of placental insufficiency in the female patients suffered the uterine artery embolisation for hysteromyoma by considering the post-embolisation UA processes; avoiding PI overdiagnosis and reducing a drug-induced load are also provided.
