METHOD OF ENCODING/DECODING MULTIVIEW VIDEO SEQUENCE BASED ON ADAPTIVE COMPENSATION OF LOCAL ILLUMINATION MISMATCHES WITH INTERFRAME PREDICTION (VERSIONS) Russian patent published in 2014 - IPC H04N19/50

Abstract RU 2533852 C2

FIELD: physics, video.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of encoding and decoding a multiview video sequence. The method comprises excluding from consideration pixels included in the vicinity of the current encoded block and in the vicinity of the reference block, the pixels being estimated to be unreliable for computation of parameters for changing illumination according to a given criterion; determining numerical ratios between pixels of the reference block, reliable pixels located in the vicinity of the current encoded block and reliable pixels located in the vicinity of the reference block; considering initial values; computing illumination correction parameter values based on the determined numerical ratios; estimating a change in values of pixels of the reference block; when the change is estimated to be substantial, the values of the pixels of the reference block are corrected using the computed correction parameters.

EFFECT: high efficiency of interframe prediction owing to compensation for illumination mismatches between a reference block and a current encoded block based on pixels located in the vicinity of said blocks.
