SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method of decoding video data. Method includes a step of determining first metric for group of pixels inside the pixel unit, whereupon the first metric is determined based on comparison of pixel values of group of pixels with pixel values of said block of pixels. Further, according to method, second metric for group of pixels is defined, wherein the determination of the second metric includes determining direction of group of pixels from a set of directions, wherein the set of directions includes horizontal direction, vertical direction, direction of 45 degrees and direction of 135 degrees.
EFFECT: reducing the number of bits required for signalling filter coefficients.
