METHOD FOR PREVENTION OF COMPLICATIONS FOLLOWING HEPATIC RESECTION IN GIANT NEW GROWTHS OF ITS RIGHT HALF Russian patent published in 2014 - IPC A61B17/00 A61M27/00

Abstract RU 2534230 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: after a giant new growth is removed, corrugating sutures are applied on a muscular portion of the diaphragm along the full semi-circle along the diaphragm attachment line to the chest at 3-4 cm from this line inside. The Round and falciform ligaments of the liver are transected. A left half of the liver is rotated to the right about the axis formed by the inferior vena cava at an angle of 45-60° about the sagittal axis. The liver is fixed by applying the sutures between the transected round and falciform ligaments of the liver from one side, and the right cupula of the diaphragm - from the other one. The subphrenic space is drained by no more than three silicone tubes with an active vacuum aspiration.

EFFECT: method enables reducing the residual cavity after the giant new growth is removed by corrugating the muscular part of the diaphragm and rotating the left half of the liver to the right, reducing a rate of pulmonary complications, increasing a respiratory volume and a vital capacity by an invagination of the cupula of the diaphragm and the lower part of the right lung spread and elimination of an atelectasis immediately during the operation, as well as avoiding the formation of the residual cavity and reducing a length of staying in hospital by draining the subphrenic space by no more than three silicone tubes with an active vacuum aspiration.
