FIELD: instrumentation.
SUBSTANCE: set of inventions relates to detection of icing at aircraft surfaces. Proposed method comprises the steps that follow. Pickup is fitted on aircraft surface for sensing the ambient effects and as well as pump to cool and/or to heat pickup sensing surface. Said heat pump is initiated to cool or heat said surface and surface temperature is traced. Temperature of icing is determined as well as ambient temperature acting on pickup surface. Obtained results are used to define the difference between ambient temperature and icing temperature. Note here that said magnitude describes approximation of ambient effects to icing conditions. In compliance with second version, additionally defined is the power required for heating or cooling of the surface corresponding to icing temperature. Proposed system comprises pickup, electrical heat pump (16) to heat/cool the surface (12) and temperature sensor (14) to generate signal describing the surface temperature and ambient medium detector means and processor.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of detection of aircraft surfaces icing.
