FIELD: instrumentation.

SUBSTANCE: method for determining an electromagnetic signal delay by troposphere at relative satellite measurements involves satellite measurements, measurement of meteorological elements by a geodetic gradient meter (RF Patent No. 2452983), a calculation of distribution of meteorological elements in the direction of propagation of an electromagnetic signal, and measurement of a signal delay by troposphere. In the lower atmospheric layer, at modelling, measured gradients of meteorological elements are used, higher - average statistical ones, and an air humidity versus temperature chart is used for humidity. Measurement of meteorological elements by means of a gradient meter allows clear determination of a nature of variation of gradients with altitude. Performance of meteorological measurements above two underlying surfaces that are extreme as to physical and chemical properties allows considering horizontal changeability of meteorological elements. Simultaneous satellite observations at least at three stations allow obtaining excess measurements necessary to determine an optimum value of altitude of replacement of the measured gradients with average statistical ones, which corresponds to minimum discrepancy in coordinate increments.

EFFECT: method allows improving accuracy and efficiency of relative satellite measurements due to independent determination of an electromagnetic signal delay by troposphere.
