SUBSTANCE: spectral optical coherence tomography of the optic disk and the macula is performed to evaluate: the thickness of the retinal nerve fibres in the peripapillary area, an area of the disk rim, the size of the disk rim, the thickness of the macular retina. If the thickness of the retinal nerve fibres in the peripapillary area is from 100 to 108 mcm, the area of the disk rim is from 1.5 to 1.7 mm2, the size of the disk rim is from 0.5 to 0.6 mm3, the thickness of the macular retina is from 210 to 241.2 mcm, the stage of latency is stated. If the thickness of the retinal nerve fibres in the peripapillary area is from 109 to 133 mcm, the area of the disk rim is from 1.5 to 1.7 mm2, the size of the disk rim is from 0.61 to 0.7 mm3, the thickness of the macular retina is from 241.3 to 316.9 mcm, the developed stage is stated. If the thickness of the retinal nerve fibres in the peripapillary area is from 134 to 167 mcm, the area of the disk rim is from 1.71 to 2.9 mm2, the size of the disk rim is from 0.71 to 0.8 mm3, the thickness of the macular retina is from 317 to 346.9 mcm, the advanced stage is stated.
EFFECT: more accurate diagnosis of the stage of optical neuropathy accompanying endocrine ophthalmopathy with the timely detection of the transformation of one stage of optical neuropathy into the other one by determining the most significant tomographic values that enables prolonging the time of high visual functional retention.
