FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology. Spectral OCT of the optic nerve disc (OND) is performed and the area of the neuroretinal girdle, the volume of excavation, and the volume of the optic nerve head are determined. If the volume of the neuroretinal girdle is more than 0.2 mm3, the area of the neuroretinal girdle is more than 1.5 mm2, the volume of excavation is less than 0.01 mm3, the volume of the optic nerve head is more than 0.4 mm3, then optic disc edema is diagnosed with a closed eye injury.
EFFECT: method allows increasing the accuracy, reliability and information content in the diagnosis of OND edema with closed eye injury, by quantitatively assessing the OND parameters, applicable in cases of OND edema.
