FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: device includes a device body, a system for producing a slurry of microbubbles and directing them to the region of the teeth to be cleaned, and a system for producing ultrasound signal beams with a frequency in the range of 100 KHz to 1 MHz, directed to and actuating the microbubbles for cleaning. The system for producing the ultrasound signals includes an array of radiating elements for producing ultrasound signals. Some of the radiating elements are actuated separately to allow separate power control of associated ultrasound signals. The amplitude of ultrasound signals is modulated by an amplitude modulation unit which includes a control unit, and the frequency of the ultrasound signals in a given range is varied by a frequency modulation system which includes a control unit, wherein the amplitude and frequency are controlled independently for each radiating element.
EFFECT: use of invention enables to produce a cleaning effect on teeth along the gum line and in the interproximal areas of the teeth owing to frequency and amplitude control of ultrasound signals.
