ELECTRICAL TOOTHBRUSH WITH MODULATED DRIVE SIGNAL Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC A61C17/20

Abstract RU 2639023 C1

FIELD: items for personal use.

SUBSTANCE: electric toothbrush comprises a handle, a cleaning head unit, a drive system, and a modulation system. The cleaning head unit has a set of bristles at its distal end. The drive system responds to the drive signal to move the set of bristles with motion having a frequency in the sound range and an amplitude in a range providing clinically effective cleaning of the user's teeth during the cleaning session. The modulation system comprises a drive signal source, a modulation signal source, and a soundmixer coupled to the drive signal source and the modulation signal source for outputting the combined drive and modulation signal to change the drive signal frequency. In response to the combined drive and modulation signal, the drive system additionally moves the set of bristles to obtain at least one of the cognitive stimulation or relaxation effect during the cleaning session in addition to clinically effective tooth cleaning. For the cognitive stimulation effect, the combined drive and modulation signal increases in frequency at predetermined intervals from the beginning till the end of the cleaning session. For the cognitive relaxation effect, the combined drive and modulation signal decreases in frequency at predetermined intervals between the beginning and the end of the cleaning session. The frequency of the modulation signal from the modulation signal source varies between the lowest modulation frequency of 0.2 Hz and the highest frequency of 100 Hz.

EFFECT: inventions allow to reduce anxiety before going to bed and to give vigour after awakening before starting daily activities.
