SUBSTANCE: in areas with minimal anthropogenic influence test plots are arranged in each of the five age stages of a forest stand development - seedling o stage, middle-aged, approaching maturity, mature, and over-mature stands. The canopy is divided into tiers based on the difference in average height. The composition of plants in each tier for each age stage of stand development is determined. Soil and plant samples are taken in seedlings to monitor the dynamics of the main nutrients in soil and their accumulation in needles and leaves, depending on the level of groundwater. Soil samples are taken monthly from May to September to a depth of 40 cm in 10 cm layers in 5-times frequency of occurrence. The plant samples are taken from the trees of the same age to determine the variability of accumulation of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in the needles and leaves. The assessment of relationship between the productivity of tree species and indicators of soil fertility, and the dynamics of the forest regeneration process is carried out for each regeneration row with the use of the regression equation.

EFFECT: increase in reliability of estimate of variability of forest ecosystems with time in the course of their development.
