SUBSTANCE: capsule contains a ring-shaped first wall (810, 838) including a flange (838) projecting to the outside, a lower part (812) covering the ring-shaped first wall at the first end, a lid (816), covering the ring-shaped first wall at the second opened end opposite to the lower part; the first wall, the lower part and the lid enclose a space, containing the beverage ingredients, and a seal element for sealing between the capsule (802) and the beverage preparation device (104). The seal element is represented by the flange (838) first part (838A) adjacent to the ring-shaped wall (810) edge and being at least 0.1 mm thicker (in the direction from the outer surface of the lid (816) than the flange (838) second part (838B) adjacent in the radial direction and passing around the first part (838A).

EFFECT: capsule, designed according to the invention, requires no provision with a special hollow seal element because of the capsule ring-shaped wall proper operates essentially as a seal element which allows to spend less energy and materials for the capsule manufacture.
