FIELD: radio engineering, communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technical security equipment and can be used to determine the azimuth to a detected object and distance to said object based on a seismic signal when securing extended areas, territories and accesses to different facilities. The apparatus comprises three seismic receivers, three delay lines, 2 n-correlators, two decision devices, an azimuth computer, a seismic wave velocity computer and a distance computer. To ensure unambiguous measurement of the azimuth of the detected object and to determine seismic wave velocity, the apparatus calculates two time delays, and the distance to the object is calculated based on a predetermined function.
EFFECT: high accuracy of determining the azimuth of a detected object and distance to said object.
