FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to lighting devices which can be powered by an ac power supply or an unregulated dc power supply. The light-emitting device comprises: first and second leads for connecting a power supply, a LED-based light source array comprising a plurality of series-connected sections which include a first section and a last section, each having a LED, wherein said first section comprises first and second switches, said first switch connecting the first lead of said LED in said section to a first power supply bus, and said second switch connects the second lead of said LED to a second power supply bus, said last section comprising first and second switches, wherein said first switch connects the first lead of said LED to the first power supply bus, and said second switch connects the first lead of said LED to the second lead of the LED in an adjacent section, and a controller which controls said switches in response to variation in time of the potential difference between the first and second leads for connecting a power supply.
EFFECT: high efficiency of controlling power supply of a light-emitting device.
