FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and can be used in high-voltage switches. A high-voltage device (100) includes a conductive element (121, 122, 123) for conduction of high-voltage current and at least one device (130) for damping of transient processes to reduce voltage peaks of the existing propagating extremely quick transient processes by means of the occurrence of the electric arc, a transient process damping device having at least one surface of the occurrence of the electric arc (131; 131a; 131b; 131c). The electric arc occurrence surface is located near the conductive element so that when the difference of potentials between the transient process damping device and the conductive element of the transient processes exceeds a threshold value, namely at the occurrence of an extremely quick process between the transient process damping device and the conductive element, an electric arc appears.
EFFECT: reduction of speed of transient processes.
