FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to sorption removal of mercury and arsenic from flowing media. Claimed is method of obtaining sorbent composition, including application of layer of copper compound on substrate surface by substrate dipping or dispersion of basic copper carbonate suspension on substrate and drying substrate material with applied coating. Sorbent composition can contain sulfide copper compound on substrate. Obtained sorbent contains from 0.5 to 20 % of copper with thickness of copper compound on dried substrate 1-200 mcm.
EFFECT: methods of claimed sorbent application are described.
