SUBSTANCE: invention discloses a method of treating proliferative diseases mediated by KIT receptor, in greater detail the invention discloses a method of treating stromal gastrointestinal tumours (SGITs) in individuals, involving the stages: administering the pre-set fixed amount of 200 to 800 mg of imanitib mesylate as a daily dose into a human patient being in need thereof as suffering a SGIT diseases, taking at least one blood sample from the above patient for the first 12 months of the therapy, determining the least plasma imanitib concentration (Cmin) and selecting a dose of imanitib or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt so that to achieve Cmin falling within the range of 1100 to 2500 ng/ml of imanitib mesylate in the above patient.
EFFECT: invention is effective in treating the stromal gastrointestinal tumours in individuals.
