FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine. A catheter has a tubular body and a rotatable rod integrated into the tubular body cavity. A cutting element is connected to the rod and has a cutting edge. The cutting element and the rod are configured to move longitudinally inside the tubular body between the retracted position, wherein the cutting element is arranged distally in relation to a side hole, and the cutting position, wherein the cutting element is built into the tubular body and longitudinally aligned with the side hole. The cutting element can be projected through the side hole and is configured to cut the material from a vascular wall on the processed section, when the catheter is pulled in the proximal direction through the processed section. Where it is necessary the catheter can comprise a rotatable distal tip with an abrasive surface. The catheter comprises a collection chamber, which is arranged in the proximal direction in relation to a cutting window.
