FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method involves acceleration of an alloying powder with blast energy with a charge of a blasting explosive. A cumulative jet is formed of an alloying powder consisting of silicone carbide powder and zinc powder, and it is added to volume of an aluminium-silicone casting alloy. After the alloying powder is added, machined items are subject to electrochemical etching during 14-70 minutes. The method allows performing effective modification of macrovolumes of an aluminium-silicone casting alloy, crushing and activation of strengthening silicone needles and local alloying.
EFFECT: method allows producing an all-metal composite material from an aluminium-silicone alloy with the specified zones of high ductility and provides zonal improvement of ductility, enlarges technological capabilities, and it allows high-efficiency machining of parts of an irregular shape.
