FIELD: powder metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of metal composite powder based on aluminum doped with zinc, intended for application of coating by method of cold gas-dynamic spraying for protection against corrosion of steel parts. Method involves preparation of a mixture of matrix aluminum powder and alloying particles of zinc with size from 2 to 20 mcm, making 50% by weight in prepared mixture of powders. Prepared mixture of powders is loaded into attritor device and said mixture of powders is mechanically alloyed in alcohol medium for 10–40 minutes at speed of rotation of shafts from 540 to 640 rpm. Then one performs vacuum drying of the alloyed powder and addition of corundum powder Al2O3 with dispersion from 80 to 120 mcm in amount of 30 wt.% to reduce porosity of the formed coating and create microroughness on the surface of the substrate.

EFFECT: improved quality of powder with fractional composition of 15–40 microns, simplified technology of powder production, reduced time of mechanical alloying.
