FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to laser surface treatment, specifically to methods of producing surface composite layers in metals. Strengthening particles are fed into the metal melt bath formed by the laser radiation. Ultrasonic vibrations with frequency in range of 30–40 kHz are introduced into the article.
EFFECT: as a result, composite surface layer is obtained with uniform distribution of insoluble or slightly soluble reinforcing particles in steel matrix, which leads to improvement of operational properties of articles, in particular, its wear resistance.
