FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: preparation of workpieces is performed at different speeds of cutting with record of background vibrations and with consequent selection by means of band-pass filters of high-frequency and low-frequency vibration components and determination of amplitude values of specified components. The optimum cutting speed is the speed value, for which the ratio of named values of amplitudes of high-frequency component to low-frequency is minimum.
EFFECT: improvement of accuracy of determination of optimum speed.
