FIELD: cutting.
SUBSTANCE: method includes measuring a frequency response of a system, pre-processing a workpiece made of given material at different speeds, measuring a vibration acceleration signal by a sensor, converting the signal into a frequency spectrum. In the frequency spectrum, a harmonic with a maximum amplitude is determined, a frequency corresponding to the maximum harmonic amplitude - f0 is determined, relatively to this frequency, a frequency band Δf=f0+fc is determined, where fc is half of the frequency band equal to a value of a standard deviation of a frequency of shear deformation formation Δx determined by chips. The spectral density of the specified frequency band is calculated. Based on the known value of the frequency response and the established value of the spectral density of the frequency band, the spectral density of the frequency spectrum of the formation of chip fragments is calculated based on the given ratio. Then, a value of the shear deformation Δx, and a value of the chip fragment are found, the value Δx is compared with the thickness of a cut layer - a; the comparison is carried out until the condition of a value Δx/a from 0.9 to 1.1 is met, at which the cutting speed or feed is optimal.
EFFECT: complexity of determining optimal processing modes is reduced with the possibility of automatic control of the cutting process, taking into account dynamic properties of the technological medium in the process of formation process.
