FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: in order to carry out accurate identification of a source, in particular a nuclide, enclosed in human body and/or container, the following stages are performed: identification and measurement of a source by means of a gamma-spectroscopic device; identification of a source at the first stage of estimation by means of standard procedure of nuclide identification in order to estimate the measured first spectrum of a source; application of the second stage of estimation basing on the result of the first stage of estimation. The result of the first stage of estimation is used to obtain multitude of the second spectra of a source, identified in the course of standard procedure of nuclide identification, for multitude of scenarios of absorption and for multitude of scenarios of dispersion; and comparison of the measured first spectrum with the spectrum of dispersion and absorption, obtained from multitude of the second spectra, formed at the second stage of estimation.
EFFECT: provision of possibility of obtaining highly accurate and reliable results in the process of identification of nuclides, which are surrounded by or are contained in a different material of any type.
