FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: item is fixed on a platform of an oscillating device, put in oscillatory motion, and period and amplitude of oscillations are measured. At the same time the amplitude of oscillations is maintained as permanent by means of compensation of its reduction by winding of an elastic element by an angle equal to difference of the initial value and the following measured values of the amplitude of oscillations. Compensating winding is carried out with the help of a drive installed between a body and an elastic element.

EFFECT: increased accuracy of measurements and simplified realisation of the method.
