FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: method is realised using a moment of inertia standard gauge which is in form of a cylinder or a flattened cone and is a size-mass model of the article, and a set of standard weights of known mass. During inspection, weight-modelled standard (given) and nominal mass-balancing and mass-inertia characteristics of the moment of inertia standard gauge are measured, where in order to model said characteristics, standard weights are attached to the ends or near the ends of the moment of inertia standard gauge in known angular positions. The decision on the quality of operation of the stand is taken based on results of comparing measurement values with corresponding nominal and modelled values of the control mass-balancing and mass-inertia characteristics.

EFFECT: high information content and reliability of checking quality of operation of the stand in given parameter measurement ranges.
