FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: invention is meant for determination of moments of inertia both bodies of revolution and other bodies by method of their oscillation in system with elastic coupling. One surface of examined body is embraced with flexible unstretchable tape fixed against slipping that is linked to one elastic member and mass or another elastic member. Effort of advanced stretching of tape is formed with matching of amplitude of oscillations with value of this effort to maintain stretching stresses in tape in any phase of oscillation. Proposed technique makes it feasible to widen substantially possibility of determination of moments of inertia first of all of difficult of access, heavy and large-sized flywheels, wheels, rotors without necessity of their dismounting and weighing.
