FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment. A device for drug administration providing dose setting and injection with drug supply from a container, comprises a Grey code detector for detecting mutual motions of first and second components of a dosing assembly during dose setting and/or injection, comprising a code track on the first component and a Grey code sensor on the second component and associated with the above code track. The code track is presented in the form of a sequence of alternating code elements in the form of first and second segments corresponding to first and second values. The detector is configured to recognise the values of code element sequence. Each of the above first segments is extended along the code track equal to X1, while each of the above second segments is extended along the code track equal to X2. The Grey code sensor comprises at least three detectors on the second components of the dosing assembly associated with the above code track and configured to recognise the values of the code elements. All the detectors mentioned above are mutually displaced along the code track to read out the sequence in the Grey code when moving the above detectors in relation to the code track towards the position of the code element sequence.

EFFECT: providing the electronic motion detection inside the injection device to provide more accurate drug dosage to the patient.
