FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: steel contains the following component ratio, wt %: carbon (C) 1.2-1.4, silicone (Si) 0.2-0.5, manganese (Mn) 0.5-0.8, chrome (Cr) 1.4-1.7, nickel (Ni) 0.6-0.9, molybdenum (Mo) 0.1-0.3, vanadium (V) and niobium (Nb) based on the following expression: V+Nb=C/12, and iron is the rest. Average content of vanadium is by 2-2.5 times bigger than content of niobium.
EFFECT: manufactured forged forming rolls have high strength and wear resistance due to formation of optimum quantity of carbides and creation of a fine-grained structure, which contributes to improvement of operating properties of rolls.
