FIELD: sports.
SUBSTANCE: device for testing ski wax comprises a support base, a housing, an assembly of the guide of the vertical linear movement, a drive of the ski layout, a removable ski layout in the form of a disc, a retainer of the ski layout, characterised in that the drive of the ski layout is made in the form of an electromagnetic system consisting of the electromagnets and the anchor, and the anchor is coaxially connected to the ski layout and has an ability to perform reciprocating rotary motion by a fixed angle. The method of testing the ski wax consists in the fact that by means of the electronic device the power voltage is applied to the coil of the first electromagnet. The anchor is rotated and sets the ski layout in one of the extreme angular positions, then the voltage at the coil of the first electromagnet is reduced to zero and applied to the coil of the second electromagnet, increasing from zero to the value of start of turning the ski layout. The voltage value at the coil of the second electromagnet is recorded using electronic means, on which the static coefficient of friction is determined.
EFFECT: improvement of accuracy of measurement of the static coefficient of friction of the ski wax and reduction of testing time.
