FIELD: heating.
SUBSTANCE: use: for controlled heating of body tissues using high-intensity focused ultrasound. The essence of the invention consists in that the curved high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) transducer comprises a plurality of curved composite ceramic piezoelectric tiles having opposed convex and concave surfaces, and each tile has electrodes on surfaces that are electrically connected to the composite ceramic piezoelectric material, and a plurality of areas of acoustic transmission, located on each tile and excited by means of electrodes on the convex surface, at that the areas of transmission and the electrodes are acoustically separated from the surrounding areas with incisions in the composite ceramic piezoelectric material, at that the plurality of the tiles are fitted to each other to form a substantially continuous curved composite piezoelectric surface which transmits HIFU acoustic energy.
EFFECT: providing ability of creation of curved high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) transducer of a small number of composite ceramic piezoelectric tiles.
