FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: blood serum is taken from the patient are divided into two portions: one test tube is used to measure the glucose concentration; and the other one - for setting up a cuneiform dehydration method on an inclined substrate. The serum in an amount of 20-30 mcm is dropped on a slide inclined at an angle of 10-15°. The serum is dehydrated in the inclined position at temperature 22-25°C, relative humidity 55-60% for 18-24 hours. That is followed by a microscopic examination of the prepared fascia of blood serum. If pigmented assemblies of globulin-related insulin in the form of an open ring in an intermediate area of an upper half of the fascia of blood serum are detected, insulin resistance is stated. The presented method is simple, accurate and cheap.

EFFECT: using the given method in health care facilities of any capacity for periodic screening enables detecting the insulin-resistant patients at the early stage of metabolic syndrome.
