FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: biochemical fasting blood analysis is conducted to measure glucose and alanine aminotransferase in a combination with ultrasonic examination of: the liver to determine the echo-producing structure, the fasting pancreas to determine a size of its head, and the thyroid to determine its volume. The derived data are used to calculate a diagnostic coefficient by formula P=1/1+e-z. If the calculated value P≥0.5, metabolic syndrome is diagnosed, while P<0.5 shows the absence of metabolic syndrome.

EFFECT: method enables higher accuracy of diagnosing metabolic syndrome by measuring biochemical and ultrasonic values.
