FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ferrous metallurgy, namely to out-of-furnace steel treatment by flux cored wire with powder filler. Flux cored wire filler contains the following, wt %: barium 5-28, calcium 1-30, silicone 30-65, aluminium 0-5, and iron is the rest.
EFFECT: invention allows increasing purity of high-carbon steel as to non-metallic inclusions and rolled slag patches, mechanical steel properties, optimising a steel making process, providing higher absorption of calcium and barium from filler, as well as excluding cases of dragging of a steel-pouring nozzle, reducing level of defects of the ready-made metal as to internal defects detected by ultrasonic testing, and improving quality of steel items due to improvement of their mechanical properties.
