SUBSTANCE: vitrectomy knife comprises a handle and a pointed working portion. The working portion is presented in the form of a curvilinear plate and consists of two portions. A first portion is smoothly coupled with a second curvilinear portion and represents a curvilinear triangle symmetrical to a long axis. Triangle sides are pointed. The second portion represents a curvilinear four-sided figure symmetrical to the long axis with pointed sides. The plate is curved along the central long axis concentrically to an eyeball surface with a half radius of curvature.

EFFECT: reducing the tissue injuries accompanying a vitrectomy.
