FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention may be used in diagnostics of technical condition of a diesel generator under conditions of vessel operation. The proposed method determines speeds of air flow in sections of the nozzle by stepped insertion of a combined probe (CP) and measurement of difference of full and static pressures of air flow (AF). The CP is inserted perpendicularly to direction of AF with pitch of 5-15 mm. The difference of full and static pressures of air flow in points corresponding to positions of holes in the CP is measured step by step. The speed of AF is calculated in specific points of the nozzle cross section, then they are averaged and mathematically processed for detection of air flow. The CP is aligned so that the axis of one hole is located along the air flow, and the distance between points along the axis of the nozzle corresponds to the distance between holes of the CP and makes 3-5 mm.
EFFECT: simplification of air flow monitoring.
